FAQ

  • What is The Nurtured Tree?

The Nurtured Tree is a child development consulting practice that supports families with young children through developmental guidance, sensory-informed strategies, behavior coaching, and individualized routines. Services are available in-home, in the community, in school/daycare, and virtually.

  • Are you a therapy service or a childcare provider?

No. The Nurtured Tree is not a therapy or childcare provider.

We offer developmental consulting, which means we help parents understand their child’s needs, build stronger routines, and use strategies that support communication, behavior, sensory regulation, and connection.

  • Who do you work with?

I support children from infancy through early elementary age, including:

    Autistic children

    Children with language delays

    Children with sensory processing differences

    Children with behavioral challenges

Children who are struggling with transitions, routines, or emotional regulation

Toddlers with big feelings, tantrums, or rigid behavior

I also support parents with coaching, behavior planning, and developmental questions.

  • What happens during an in-home visit?

    In-home visits typically include:

    A parent interview
Observation of your child in their natural routines
    Hands-on modeling of strategies
Creating a plan together based on what’s working and what your goals are
Time for questions, coaching, and adjusting strategies

Every session is personalized to your child and family.

  • Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Virtual coaching is available for families who prefer online support or are outside of my service area. Virtual sessions include coaching, observation, and individualized strategy planning.

  • Do you offer school or daycare observations?

Yes. I offer a 1-hour school/daycare observation plus a written report and recommendations.

    Fee: $160

    (Effective 12/1/25)

  • What ages do you support?

I support children from birth through early elementary (0–6 years), and also work with parents, caregivers, and educators of children in this age group.

  • What kinds of challenges can you help with?

Families come to The Nurtured Tree for help with:

    Sensory processing and regulation

    Developmental milestones

    Toddler behavior

    Tantrums, big emotions, meltdowns

    Communication and play skills

    Autism support

Rigid behavior or difficulty with transitions

    Sibling dynamics

Daily routines (meals, bedtime, outings, community skills)

  • Do you provide diagnoses?

    No. I do not diagnose.

If needed, I can help families understand whether a diagnostic evaluation might be helpful and guide them toward appropriate providers.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Because appointment times are limited each week:

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment incur a $40 fee.

Intake cancellations less than 24 hours ahead are charged the $50 deposit.

This ensures I can continue offering consistent support to all families.
